Follow these aftercare guidelines to keep your waxed areas smooth and healthy

1. Antiseptic Cream: For the first three days, apply Savlon antiseptic cream or a similar product every morning and night. This helps heal minor irritations and keeps open hair follicles free from bacteria.

2. After Waxing: Don’t be alarmed if small red bumps and some redness appear post-waxing. This is a common reaction, especially for first-time waxers, and should subside within 24-48 hours.

3. Avoid Heat and Sweat: For the next 48 hours, stay away from steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs, swimming pools, gyms, and any rigorous exercise to reduce the risk of irritation and infection.

4. Intimate Waxing: If you’ve had intimate areas waxed, refrain from intimate encounters or exposing the treated area to bodily fluids for the next 48 hours as the hair follicles close and the skin heals. Use fragrance-free wet wipes after using the toilet to maintain cleanliness.

5. Exfoliation: Start exfoliating a few days post-waxing and continue every 2-3 days to prevent ingrown hairs and folliculitis, keeping pores clear and skin smooth.

6. Moisturization: To keep your skin soft and hydrated, moisturize daily. E45 cream or baby oil are effective options; feel free to use other similar moisturizers as well.

7. Bathing: Avoid hot baths and showers for 24 hours; stick to lukewarm water instead.

8. Sunlight and Tanning: Steer clear of direct sunlight and tanning beds for at least 48 hours to prevent irritation and hyperpigmentation.

9. Clothing: Opt for loose-fitting clothing for a couple of days after waxing to minimize friction and irritation.

10. Redness and Swelling: Should you experience any prolonged redness or swelling, a cold compress can help soothe your skin.

Preventing Ingrown Hairs:
• Exfoliate every 2-3 days to keep skin smooth.
• Use an exfoliating mitt on waxed areas while showering; these are available in major stores or from me at the salon.
• After your shower, apply baby oil or E45 lotion to maintain hydration.
• If you notice ingrown hairs, please avoid picking or scratching. Contact me for a “Skin Maintenance Appointment” to treat any areas of concern.

Hair Growth and Maintenance:
• Ensure you have at least three weeks of hair growth or hair 6mm in length before your next waxing session.
• Refrain from shaving or trimming between appointments, Intimate Waxing Clients are advised to book a free manscaping appointment in between treatments.
• If this is your first wax, it's normal to see some shorter, finer hairs growing back after about a week due to hair growth cycles. It can take 2-3 waxing sessions to synchronize these cycles for longer-lasting results. If you see more hair than expected, please reach out to schedule a touch-up.
• Regular waxing every 4-6 weeks is recommended to maintain smooth skin. With consistent waxing, you'll notice that hair regrowth will become finer, softer, and slower over time.
• Clients who have received an Intimate Waxing Treatment are automatically covered by my Smooth Skin Guarantee Policy and should have received the relevant information along with this aftercare guide.
